National Action Plan for the Use Of Pesticides

National Action Plan has been announced for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides in Ireland. The purpose of this Regulation is to achieve a balance of safety between human and environmental factors within the farming and amenity sector. The regulation states that all professional users including operators, technicians, employers and self employed people will be required to be registered by 2015 with the PCS to apply pesticides authorised for use. To register with the PCS to use pesticides, users will need to complete a FETAC level 5 programme in Boom Sprayer Application for tractor mount pesticides application and Hand Held Pesticide Application for Knapsack Application.
